Small cities
So far I like Ottawa a lot. I have never been so active in my life. I guess this is the advantage of living in a small city. Every Tuesday I get to the car and I go to the beach to play volley ball (5 minutes drive). Last night I decided to ride my bike to the beach. That was a wonderful idea. I really enjoyed the ride and felt good for not polluting the air. I also found out that I can play on Wednesdays as well, so again this evening I took my bike, went to the beach and played volley ball. It is a shame that I didn’t know that I could play on Weds as well. Always ask around and find out more about the programs and opportunities. Next week is the last session for our volley ball and I will definitely miss it until next summer.

I did it again
Today I did it again; I ride my bike, yeh! Even though this morning I was not feeling very well and was feeling tired and not energetic and all those excuses to not go out and move my ass, but this time I had a motivation and I had to go.Last time, when we were in that bike path with Rodean, we found some beautiful wild apple trees with lots of apples. Rodean tasted the apple and loved it. So, yesterday he asked me to go and pick some apples for him. That was my motivation today, I took a plastic bag and jump on my bike and here I go. Another day that I’m doing some work out and feeling good. When Rodean’s home after his camp I’m sure he will be very happy to see those apples. My conclusion, find some motivation for yourself. Anything can motivate you to go out and get active. A juice after work out, a sandwich after reaching your destination, a good music while working out, even the taste of a glass of water after work out can be a good motivation for you to move it. Good luck!

A good start
I finally did it. Today after I dropped my son Rodean at his camp, I came home and picked up my bicycle. It wasn’t that hard just needed motivation. I took the same way that we took on Sunday. Every Sunday in Ottawa they close a beautiful road name Colonel By drive for the whole morning (actually until 1:00 pm) just for the bikers. So family can ride their bikes with no worries and no cars around. What a thoughtful thing to do. I really enjoyed the ride yesterday. So today I decided to do the same. I forgot to mention that I’m not working right now so I have plenty time to do whatever I like to do. To move to Ottawa I had to resign and now I’m taking things easy until I find the right job, the job that I really enjoy to do. To be honest with you I have mixed feeling right now about not working, I’m not happy that I’m not working but at the same time I’m happy that I’m not working. I think you know what I mean. Anyway, after over a month I decided not to waste my time by going to mall and shopping and all those woman things. I did what I really wanted to do, get healthy and sportive and of course to lose a bit of weight.

My house renovation
We moved to Ottawa from Toronto about a month ago. We bought a house, no wait my husband bought a house. Basically I trusted him to buy a house without me seeing it. What was I thinking? The house is a disaster and need works, a lot of works! So we started from the outside as the renovator for the inside didn’t have time until December. We were so lucky to find Andre (the roof guy). There was an ugly arch shape in front of the house that we needed to remove, well I needed it to be removed, and it was so ugly that I could not stand it. First quote to remove it was 10K, that was a lot of money no way that my husband spend this much money just for the look of the house and of course for me not liking it. Second quote was even worse 15K- 20K. I almost gave up thinking that I had to see that ugly shape every day, and then Andre came to the scene and gave me the amazing, unbelievable prices of $3,500. I couldn’t resist this price neither my husband, even though he disagreed on this project from the beginning. Anyway the job is done and thanks to Andre our house looks great. Already three of my neighbors congraluted me for the job well done and thought that the house look great. Wish I’d taken before and after pictures of the house.
Never give up hope, always ask different companies for quotes. There are still companies out there that they give you reasonable prices, prices that you can afford.
Hopefully we will be lucky for the inside renovation as well and can get things done with reasonable prices.
Oh, I forgot to mention that when I asked Rodean for his opinion about the new look of the house; he said that he doesn't like it and the old look was much better. As my husband, he thinks that the front of the house now looks like the back of the house. Anyway, I'm happy with the result, so my neighbors. Too bad that Rodean and my husband didn't like it, but I'm sure they will get use to it.

My six years old boy
Children are not children anymore. They are adults in children's body. Let's communicate with them like an adult. Please don't get angry with them over little things. Try to talk to them and convince them in a rational way. Let's find out how they think. I know it's hard to make them talk. But when they talk they can be really funny. One day my 6 years old son was taking a bath and I asked him if I can wash his hair and he refused. I said why you don’t let me wash your hair while you let daddy to do so. He answered me, well because daddy gets angry if I don't let him. I said I will get angry too. He said but when daddy gets angry his nose goes on top of his head and his eyes and eyebrows fell where his cheeks are and his lips fell to his neck. He was giving this explanation so seriously that I control my laughter to not offend him. I said to myself, poor guy, this is how he sees his dad when he gets angry. Since then, I tried to not get angry as I don't want my little son sees me like Picasso's painting.
